The area of Mavisehir(which means Blue City), a small suburb
of Didim, is located on the coast with a view to some of
the Greek islands and is a resort in its own right. It is
about a ten minute bus ride from the main resort at Altinkum,
which provides excellent transport links to Bodrum, Soke,
and the provincial capital Aydin.
Throughout the season this lovely and relaxed village comes
to life. The bustling twenty four hour market sells almost
everything that you can imagine, from exotic spices and
fine leather goods, to quality souvenirs and gifts. For
those visitors who already have a home here, fresh organic
produce is in abundance. The lovely sea front hosts a selection
of restaurants and bars along with local shops and hotels.
Taking the main road, which in ancient times was the holy
road from the temple of Apollon to the ruined city of Miletos,
the Aqua Park is just a five minute bus ride and provides
plenty of fun for all the family on those hot and hazy summer
days.
